The author traces the origins of the horse in Europe Asia and North Africa and in particular on the Iberian Peninsula. Drawing on archaeological evidence and ancient texts he explains the development of the horse from hunted animal to domesticated working horse. The author is past President of the Brazilian Association of Lusitano Horse Breeders.
